Theme: Throwing The Best Slumber Party For your Daughter’s Birthday Party
November 21, 2009Slumber parties are popular among little girls who like all their friends to stay over for their birthday. There can be a lot of pressure on parents to organise the best party for their daughter. This can sometimes be as much about competition between parents than it is between the children, hoping that they organise a much more fun, entertaining night than the other mums at the playground gates. When your daughter tells you they have had a great party with all of their friends, you will feel that the time and effort you put into organising it has been worthwhile.
Making the party fancy dress is a good idea for a sleepover. Girls like to dress similarly in a pink velour tracksuit or fairy outfits. Adding a bit of fun to what the children wear can also take the pressure off parents finding something comfortable and smart for their children to wear.
A child’s party can fall apart if the food is not right. First, check that none of the guests have any allergies or dietary requirements. Once this has been ascertained, you can go wild with the food you provide for the kids. Finger food is probably your best option so the children do not have to use knives and forks and you can use paper plates instead of risking any breakages of your nice plates.
Try to make sausage rolls, pizza, cakes and sweets, all of which are children’s favourites. You can provide some healthy alternatives too like fruit pieces and vegetables but they might not get eaten as quickly as the other things.
If all the children are sleeping over, you should ask mums and dads to send their child along with a sleeping bag or duvet cover and a pillow. Try to make sleeping arrangements as comfortable as possible otherwise you might have some grouchy children to deal with in the morning.
Your daughter will be happy with her birthday slumber party if you follow this advise.
