San Diego County is quite spacious. Covering more than 4,200 square miles, many area residents opt to live away from the coastline, instead settling within 30 miles of the coast. Much of San Diego Central contains communities close to the area colleges. Towns like Linda Vista, University City, Mira Mesa and City Heights are located in the San Diego Central region.
